About IADMS and Annual Meetings
The International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS) was formed in 1990 by an international group of dance medicine practitioners, dance educators, dance scientists, and dancers. IADMS was formed to foster several related goals in the dance medicine and science field; the purposes and objectives of the organization are summarized in its Mission Statement:
IADMS enhances the health, well-being, training, and performance of dancers by cultivating educational, medical, and scientific excellence.
The organization has held an annual meeting since its inception, drawing several hundred participants each year. As in past years, the 3-day annual meeting is now supplemented by a 4th day with separate meetings for
workshops.
The IADMS annual meetings, which are open to everyone interested, provide an opportunity to exchange ideas, meet with other experts in the field, discuss the latest research, and explore new movement ideas. The meetings, along with the various social events, also provide an excellent opportunity for networking with others involved in dance medicine and science.
This web site provides registration for these annual meetings, online support for presenters, and links to information
about schedules, hotel accomodations, transportation, and social events.
